DAY 1 – Expressive Portrait and Figure Drawing/ colored pencil on Toned Paper
Discover the art of life drawing using colored pencils on toned paper in this hands-on workshop. Through guided exercises, you’ll explore layering techniques, blending, and the effective use of color to capture the human figure with precision and vibrancy. Whether new to colored pencils or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers a creative way to elevate your figure drawings with added dimension and nuance.
DAY 2 – Energetic Portrait and Figure Drawing /Mixed Media with Watercolor
In this life drawing workshop, you’ll experiment with mixing various drawing mediums and watercolors. You’ll learn how to blend charcoal, ink, and colored pencil with the fluidity of watercolor to create striking figure drawings. This workshop is perfect for experienced or beginning artists eager to explore the interplay of line, texture, and wash, enhancing depth and dynamism in their work.
DAY 3 – Wet & Dry Figure Drawing /Water Soluble Colored Pencil and Graphite
Exploring the use of water-soluble drawing medium with life drawing. This versatile material allows for dynamic and fluid transitions between traditional graphite, colored pencil sketching, and watercolor-like washes, offering a fresh approach to capturing the human figure. This workshop will guide you through techniques to enhance depth, texture, and shading while honing your observational skills in a relaxed, creative environment.

On the day of the event the studio will be open by 9:30. Optionally, Epiphany will collect lunch orders and cash for the nearby Bagel and Cream restaurant. We will pick up and have your lunch ready for the break. Park in the rear of the property behind the brown building. Enter through the rear. The event will take place at the Epiphany Fine Art Studios in Norton MA. Directions and to the event and contact information will be sent to attendees. Recommendations for nearby hotels available upon request.

Capturing Waterfall Drama
Waterfalls are dramatic and dazzling. But they can be elusive and difficult to capture, and easy to overdo. Let me give you some techniques to capture a moment in the life of an eye-catching waterfall, with it's splashes and energy. Hint: Don't first grab for that white pastel!
